Text-to-Code AI Model
Director of Engineering · Mettler Toledo
Developed a workflow to convert natural-language inputs into
machine-interpretable scripts using GPT-4 and open-source LLM modules.
These scripts automate instructions across CNCs, optical comparators, and
benchtop liquid-handling robots — trained on public code to help human
developers generate functions and full workflows on demand.
Static-Defeating Apparatus
Director of Engineering · Mettler Toledo
Solved pipette-tip dispensing failures caused by static cling by
introducing a "sheet" sized to hold tips snugly, preventing them from being
knocked out of position and reducing static adhesion on ejection. Deployed
across trays and reload components without hindering pipette function —
avoiding costly shutdowns and improving dispensing reliability.
Novel Hydrophobic Plastic
Director of Engineering · Mettler Toledo
Developed a method for introducing a hydrophobic surface inside pipette
tips for precision pipetting, enabling "low retention" of viscous and
non-viscous liquids while maintaining food- and medical-grade compatibility.
The technology is transferable to adjacent fields, as shown by
Colgate's toothpaste-tube application.
Automated Tip Rejector
Director of Engineering · Mettler Toledo
Designed an automated pipette-tip rejecter using computer-vision imaging
to detect and reject defective plastic parts. Partnered with the Mexico
automation team and Cognex to scope the vision system, devise the
detection algorithm, and implement segmentation — reducing scrap by 40%.
Pallet Pattern Generator
Packaging Design Manager · Niagara Bottling
Built a pallet-pattern generator in C++ with an intuitive UI to
produce optimized configurations for brick and nested-pack pallets.
Users input overhang tolerances and case size (24/32/48-pack); the tool
outputs the most stable, weight-approximated configuration. Patent filed.
Functional Packaging Design

Applied design-thinking and industrial-design principles across water,
juice, carbonated soft drink, and consumer cleaning packaging concepts.
Ran the process cradle to grave: rough isometric sketches, concept
generation, finite element simulation, and physical prototyping.
3D Scanning With Photogrammetry
Packaging Design Manager · Niagara Bottling
Created a novel 3D-scanning method for packaging of any size: coat the
part in a speckle pattern, capture a panoramic image set, and build a
point cloud. Used an open-source toolbox
to declutter the captures into an STL mesh, later sliced and traced to
reverse-engineer the scanned geometry as G1/G2 tangent surfaces.
